Hokeun Choi is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in Sport Management. He received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota. His interdisciplinary research focuses on widening access to sports medicine at local, national, and international levels.
Sam Dreher

Sam Dreher is a student in the School of Kinesiology majoring in Kinesiology with minors in Public Health, Physical Activity & Wellness Promotion, and Sports Coaching. Her area of expertise is the representation and coverage of sportswomen in US media. After finishing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to pursue a Masters in Public Health and work in physical activity epidemiology.
Peter Gancayco

Peter Gancayco is an undergraduate student in the School of Kinesiology majoring in Kinesiology with minors in Sport Coaching and Health Psychology. His area of interest for this project centers around the mental health of athletes with disabilities. After finishing his bachelor’s degree he hopes to continue his education in order to become a Physical Therapist.
Lindsey Lehrfeld

Lindsey Lehrfeld is a student in the School of Kinesiology. Her area of expertise is the representation and coverage of the Paralympics and Paralympians. After finishing her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, she is looking to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. She is very passionate about advocating for individuals who are misrepresented in others’ narratives.

Hannah Marshall is a student in the School of Kinesiology with a minor in Physical Activity and Health Promotion. Her area of expertise for this project is discussing the media coverage and representation of Asian American athletes. After finishing her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, she is looking to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Meg Messer is a student in the College of Education and Human Development majoring in Sports Management. Her area of expertise for the project is in the cultural context of Australian sports media. After finishing her bachelor’s degree, she is planning on getting her masters in youth development leadership, looking to pursue a career in teaching.

Brenna Zuehlke is an honors student majoring in Sport Management with minors in Business Law and Leadership. Her area of interest centers around the sports industry’s use of community engagement initiatives to further diversity, equity, and inclusion in their community. After finishing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to attend law school with aspirations of working in sports law.
